Tenwek Hospital, the medical ministry on the Africa Gospel Church, has launched a partnership with Bidco Africa Limited in support of expectant and lactating mothers. The new partnership will see Tenwek Hospital offer a wide range of free medical services to mothers visiting their Mother and Child (MCH) Clinic for a 3-day period on 7th, 10th and 11th May while Bidco Africa will offer a sanitation hamper that consists of hand sanitizers, hand wash and fabric softener.
Tenwek Hospital which serves a daily average of a hundred and twenty women through the MCH clinic will offer free blood sugar and blood pressure screening, breast cancer examination and nutrition advice as complementary services. Tenwek will also offer specialized medical advisory services in breast feeding support, health and fitness management, mental wellness support and child safety training as part of the package during the period of the initiative.
Commenting at the launch of the partnership, Tenwek Hospital CEO Shem Tangus said, “As the leading mission hospital in the greater South West region, we are happy to partner with Bidco in our quest to offer quality and affordable medical services to the community. Motherhood is tough and most times, mothers tend to care for their young ones and often forget themselves. This initiative will allow us to offer primary and preventative care for mothers while at the same time send a strong message that mothers too need support, love and care.”
Bidco Africa, a leading FMCG manufacturer in Kenya, will offer a hygiene hamper through its Gental Care line of homecare products that consists of hand wash, fabric softener and a hand sanitizer.
“Our Gental Care range of products continue to impact lives one home at a time. As Bidco, we chose to partner with Tenwek Hospital as a way of doing good and giving back to society. COVID-19 has greatly impacted our way of life and through this initiative, we want to celebrate mothers but at the same time promote handwashing through our Gental Care line of soaps and alcohol-based sanitizers as a vital habit that has proven to reduce the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.” added Judy Miriti, Bidco Africa Category Lead for the homecare products.
This partnership is one amongst many yet to come that will see Bidco, the home of healthy, happy living and Tenwek Hospital collaborate in various initiatives that seek to promote a healthy lifestyle and positive health seeking behaviours among Kenyans.
In celebration of local mothers, the campaign will run for three days on the 7th, 10th and 11th of May at Tenwek Hospital’s, main facility along the Bomet-Silibwet Road and Bidco will leverage on Tenwek’s reach and influence in Bomet, Kericho, Kisii, Narok and Nyamira counties to reach the end users of the Gental Care range of products.
